Preparation is the Key

The key to creating a perfect, durable floor is in the preparation. Richco Products in-house application team and team of approved contractors have the right equipment, dedication and knowledge to ensure that the surface is correctly prepared before the application of any flooring system.

Richco Products recommends the use of a primer on dusty or porous surfaces. The primer is designed to adhere to the sub-base and to form a binding layer that is better prepared to receive the application of a flooring system. Without the primer, the coating could potentially flake and crack resulting in the need for the coating to be removed and applied again.

It is imperative to ensure that specialist dust free preparation machinery is used to remove any failed or worn coatings, tiles, paint, oil and other contaminants from the existing substrate.

Richco Products recommend that repairs to spoiled joints, expansion joints, floor cracks, holes and defects are to be carried out using our range of specialist repair and maintenance products prior to any surface coatings. All of Richco’s repair and maintenance products have been designed and manufactured to work hand in hand with our range of flooring systems. This ensures that once the coating is applied the product will not react with the repaired area.
