Richco Epoxy Waterbased Coating is a two-part, water-based, durable, chemical resistant, seamless coating. It is designed for general application in all areas of industry where a hard wearing coating is required.
Richco Epoxy Waterbased Coating can also be used in any areas of maximum hygiene as it provides excellent resistance to light chemical attack and does not support fungus or bacterial growth.
Richco Epoxy Waterbased Coating also provides a curing membrane to increase the hardness of concrete by enabling full hydration of cement. Richco Epoxy Waterbased Coating can be applied to new (green) concrete 7 days after being poured.

Richco Water Based Epoxy Coating is suitable for use as an economical protection to concrete surfaces in a wide
range of locations such as dairies, abattoirs, food preparation areas and factories.
Solvent Free
As the coating is solvent free it therefore is non flammable, odour free and suitable for application onto damp surfaces.
Specifications
Area Coverage
Coverage area is approximately 40m per 5.0kg per coat.
One coat is normally sufficient depending on the quality of existing substrate. For porous surfaces,
very light and pastel shades may require extra coats.

This product comes in a 5.0 and 10kg unit and is a two part system.

Installation Guide
Curing Time
This product will normally cure overnight at 15 °C to accept light foot
traffic the next day. Full chemical and wear resistance is achieved over 7 days (at a minimum constant temp of
15 °C). Water should not be allowed to lie on the surface for at least 7 days. Avoid washing the surface for 7 days after coating.
Surface Preparation
New concrete should be at least 14 days old or the moisture content less than 10%.
The substrate should be clean and free from laitance, oil, grease or any other agents
that may affect adhesion. Cleaning techniques should be by mechanical means such as
scabbling, blasting or grinding, depending on the condition of the substrate.
Acid etching should also be considered, ensuring that all of the acid is removed
before the coating is applied, as the presence of acid will alter the PH of the
coating, which could lead to a breakdown in the emulsion and poor brushable properties.
Existing concrete should be sound and any surface repairs should be carried out with Richco Epoxy Repair System.
Priming
A primer is not generally required,
epoxy resin
coatings can bubble if applied direct to
open textured or very porous surfaces.
Mixing
Richco Water Based Epoxy Coating is supplied in pre weighed containers and is ready for mixing on site.
The individual components of the product should be stirred before the two are mixed together.
The entire contents of Resin Component A should be added to Curing Agent Component B and mixed for
5 minutes. The use of a paddle mixer on a slow speed drill is ideal.
Application
Application on all surfaces is by brush or roller ensuring complete coverage of the substrate.
The second coat should be applied within 24 hours and preferably as soon as the first coat is touch dry.
