Flake Floor Coating

Specifications

Area Coverage
Coverage area is approximately 14m² per 4.5kg and is sufficient for one coat.

Curing Time
Richco Flake Floor Coating will usually cure overnight ar 15°C to accept light traffic the next day. Full chemical and wear resistance is achieved over 7 days. Temperatures of 10°C will slow down or arrest the curing of the product. Avoid washing the surface for 7 days after coating.

Surface Preparation
Concrete and painted surfaces: Concrete to be treated must be dry, at least four weeks old and free of any soft surface laitance, contaminants, and not subject to rising damp. All loose material should be removed. Very smooth bare concrete or concrete with soft surface laitance should be etched and the area thoroughly hosed off and allowed to dry. Grease or oil should be removed with a degreasant and the area thoroughly hosed off and allowed to dry.
Very smooth previously painted surfaces should be abraded to improve adhesion.
All poorly bonded coatings should be removed. This product is a high performance epoxy resin which is best applied to a sound concrete base rather than an existing paint, the adhesion of which may be suspect.

Mixing
The curing agent and resin must be very thoroughly mixed together with a wide bladed tool until an even colour is obtained (approx 2 - 3 minutes).

Application
Best results are obtained in warm conditions (minimum 15°C). On horizontal surfaces apply by medium pile type roller in one coat. On vertical surfaces two thin coats are recommended. The second coat should be applied within 24 hours.

Application Tools
Apply using a medium type pile roller.

Cleaning of Application Tools
It is not practical to clean applicators and they should be discarded after use.
