Area Coverage
Coverage area is approximately 14m² per 4.5kg and is sufficient for one coat.
Curing Time
Richco Glitter Floor Coating will usually cure overnight ar 15°C to accept light traffic the next day. Full chemical and wear resistance is achieved over 7 days. Temperatures of 10°C will slow down or arrest the curing of the product. Avoid washing the surface for 7 days after coating.
Surface Preparation
Concrete and painted surfaces: Concrete to be treated must be dry, at least
four weeks old and free of any soft surface
laitance, contaminants, and not subject to
rising damp. All loose material should be
removed. Very smooth bare concrete or
concrete with soft surface laitance should
be etched and the
area thoroughly hosed off and allowed to
dry. Grease or oil should be removed with
a degreasant and the area thoroughly hosed
off and allowed to dry.
Very smooth
previously painted surfaces should
be abraded to improve adhesion.
All poorly bonded coatings should be
removed. This product is a high
performance epoxy resin which is best
applied to a sound concrete base rather
than an existing paint, the adhesion of
which may be suspect.
Mixing
The curing agent and resin must be very thoroughly mixed together with a wide bladed tool until an even colour is obtained (approx 2 - 3 minutes).
Application
Best results are obtained in warm conditions (minimum 15°C). On horizontal surfaces apply by medium pile type roller in one coat. Immediately scatter the decorative Glitter onto the wet coating. Take a small handful of Glitter and gently throw it in the air at a distance of 1 meter form the surface. Allow it to settle naturally. If you apply the wrong amount of Glitter and want to start again, just roll over the Glitter in the wet coating and apply a fresh scatter of Glitter.
Application Tools
Apply Richco Glitter Floor Coating using a medium type pile roller. Mix product with a wide bladed tool.
Cleaning of Application Tools
It is not practical to clean applicators and they should be discarded after use.
